Megérkezett a hivatalos bejelentés, miszerint az első két album újrakiadása remaszterizált formában áprilisban, a Record Store Day alkalmából fog megjelenni! Korábban a Metallica még a rajongók segítségét is kérte, hogy összegyűjtsenek minden fellelhető képi- és hanganyagot, sztorit, ami a korai időkhöz kapcsolódik. Most végre nyilvánosságra hozták, mit tartalmaznak a boxok, mi a tracklist, amihez április 15-én hozzájuthatunk!

A remaszterizált, remélhetőleg még jobb hangzású újrakiadások Cd, vinyl és deluxe box formátumokban látnak majd napvilágot, a  dizájnról egyelőre azonban még nincs információ. Felhívták a figyelmünket, hogy limitált, gyűjtői darabokról van szó, így nem érdemes késlekedni, a hivatalos Metstore-ból (és Amazonról is) pedig már előrendelhetőek is a speciális kiadások.

A gyűjtemények érdekessége, hogy több még SOHA nem hallott, sőt látott koncertet tartalmaz. Különösen érdekes ez annak fényében, hogy a Metallica "gigográfiájából" rengeteg (közöttük sok jó minőségű keverőpultos) felvétel is napvilágot látott, sőt 2006-2008 körül a Metallica is tett ingyen meghallgathatóvá a Metvault oldalon mp3-ban olyan koncerteket, melyek létezéséről eddig senki sem tudott. Ezért igen különleges, hogy a csapat, illetve Lars saját gyűteményéből (amiről egyébként is legendák szólnak, hogy vajon miket is rejthet...) még ezután is került ki néhány igazi gyöngyszem. Érdekesség: az 1984 januári Middletown-ban lévő koncertet állítólag az Anthrax cuccán nyomták le, miután épp az előző nap lopták el a hangszereiket...
